Swarit Anand Singh joined Clemson University in June 2025 as a Post Doctoral Fellow - Smart Manufacturing. He is working with Dr. Saeed Farahani, primarily on a multi-institutional project, funded by the SCRA: South Carolina Research Authority. The main goal of the project is to modernize South Carolina’s manufacturing assets to enable Industry 4.0. With an academic background in advanced manufacturing, machine vision, and deep learning, he is skilled in conceptualization, design, development, and implementation of automated and smart monitoring and inspection solutions for manufacturing systems.
Before joining Clemson, he pursued a doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering - Smart Manufacturing from the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur. Swarit completed his undergraduate studies at Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) in 2015 and obtained his master’s degree at PDPM Indian Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM) Jabalpur in 2019. During his PhD, Swarit was a recipient of the prestigious Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship (PMRF), awarded by the Government of India to select doctoral candidates. He also received international travel grants from the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) India and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) India to present his research work at international conferences.
Swarit is also an active reviewer for renowned scientific journals. He aspires to become a renowned expert in the field of smart manufacturing and to contribute significantly to the research endeavors of the manufacturing industries.
