Recent Masters Graduate in Automotive Engineering Department, New PhD Candidate in Automotive Engineering Department

Clemson University

Daniel Brown was born and raised in Colorado, where he grew up around cars thanks to his mother’s ownership of an auto repair shop. It was there that he developed a passion for vehicle maintenance and performance upgrades. His love for off-road vehicles began with his Jeep Wrangler, which sparked a lasting enthusiasm for off-roading adventures.

Driven by this passion, Daniel pursued a bachelor’s degree in engineering at Arizona State University, focusing on automotive systems. After earning his degree, he continued his education at Clemson University’s International Center for Automotive Research (ICAR), where he completed a master’s degree with a concentration in manufacturing.

While at Clemson, Daniel discovered a deep interest in composite materials and tire behavior—an interest that ultimately inspired him to pursue a Ph.D. to further explore these areas through advanced research. He is currently a Ph.D. student focusing on the thermal capabilities of composite materials using simulation tools such as ANSYS, with applications in automotive design and manufacturing.
